Questions parents ask

When can I get one? We're testing prototypes with families now and plan to launch in 2027. The founding families list hears first.

What ages is it for? Kids about 8 to 14: old enough for their own music, not yet ready for a phone.

Which services will it work with? We're designing for Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music, with more to follow.

Does it need my phone? Only once, to set it up. After that, it's theirs.

Who's behind JustMusic

I'm Adam Klein, a dad in Petaluma, California. My daughter loves music, and like a lot of parents, we weren't ready to hand her a phone to get to it. We tried a voice-controlled smart speaker. It often didn't understand her and couldn't find the playlists she'd made herself.

So I started building the stereo I wanted for her: the real streaming apps on a simple screen, and nothing else. Prototypes are in the works, and our first testers will be kids doing their best to break out of it.

By day I'm a managing partner at New Ventures West, where I've spent years helping people grow on purpose. JustMusic comes from the same place: room for kids to discover what they love, without everything else a phone brings.
